Description: The French artist Jules Laurens was a painter, draftsman, and printmaker. He was known for his Orientalist subjects from his extensive travels in Turkey, Persia and other Middle Eastern countries.

This image of a small camel caravan was drawn near Tehran. This was a time in the 19th century when many French artists were trying their hand at etching. The work by Laurens was one of the more successful ones.
