In the Park by Karel Muller

Czech artist Karl Muller (1899-1977) was a painter, printmaker, and book illustrator primarily during the middle decades of the 20th century. He was a student of Max Svabinsky, Vlaho Bukovac, and Jakub Obrovsky and a member of The Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists.

In the Park is an original etching signed in pencil by the artist. In this work a driver and his horse drawn buggy wait while a well dressed couple walk off into a park for a private conversation.

Muller is not well known in the U.S., but this is a well composed and drawn etching. Many of his prints were cityscapes and scenes of Prague.

An original Limited Edition etching signed in pencil by the artist.

This print came from the South Carolina estate of Dr. Douglas Ashley. It was professionally framed at Carolina fine Paintings and Prints in Charleston.
